Miriam Rodriguez Carrasco, BRaVE doctoral student and part of the research group for Climate Resilience of human-made ecosystems, attended the second edition of the Global Tipping Points Conference in Exeter, United Kingdom. The conference, held from June 30 to July 3, presented diverse perspectives on the topic of tipping points related to climate change and was open to researchers from various disciplines, as well as professionals and individuals concerned about the topic.
Miriam participated in the research session on agroecological tipping points and presented her recent work where she compared ecosystem resilience under different cropping systems and agricultural management strategies in South America. Her research project is developing a potential measure of agricultural resilience based on different data sources that can help assess the current state of different practices.
Also attending the conference were doctoral students Anna Maier and Felix Kotulla representing the Environmental Economics research group, part of the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】’s Centre for Climate Resilience. As well as Prof. Dr. Florian Diekert, leader of the same group.
In addition to the research sessions, the conference included plenary discussions with well-known climate scientists, action workshops and poster presentations.
