?In the next session, the GPN welcomes?Prof. Chaitanya Gokhale, Professor of Theoretical Biology and the Dynamics of Living Systems at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Würzburg. Originally from India, Prof. Gokhale earned his PhD in evolutionary biology in Kiel, followed by postdoctoral research stays in Germany and New Zealand. After leading a research group at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology, he achieved a W2 professorship at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Würzburg in 2023.
In this lunch talk, Prof. Gokhale will discuss his path to a professorship in Germany, the support systems that helped him along the way, and the challenges he faced. He will share with the participants how his daily life as a professor compares to his time as a postdoctoral researcher as well as his perspective as an international scholar navigating the German academic system.
