In addition to interdisciplinary basic research, the ITM's objectives include the transfer of results into medical, biotechnological and medical technology applications. This includes the development of novel methods and technologies, for example for the in situ analysis of drug carriers and vaccines, the combination of cellular biophysics and biotechnological production or the use of extracellular vesicles as novel therapeutics.
